JavaRanch is the most popular and the best java community, which is a friendly place for Java greenhorns. Kathy Sierra started JavaRanch in January, 1998 and turned the site over to Paul Wheaton in January, 2000. Many java-book-authors were regular contributors of JavaRanch.
